Biography

Graduated from University of Oxford, UK, in 1981 (BA in Chemistry) and the University of York, UK, in 1986 (D.Phil. Crystallography) with Guy Dodson. Post-doctoral fellow with Stephen Harrison at Harvard University 1987-1990. Assistant Professor at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School 1990-1995. Professor, Chair of Crystallography, University of Leicester, UK 1995-1999. Professor, Director of Program on Cell Adhesion, The Burnham Institute, La Jolla, CA 1999-present.
